Youth tackle football in Urbandale

The Urbandale Youth Sports Club exists to run a youth tackle football program right here in town — kids from the same neighborhoods and schools, playing together in J-Hawks navy and white.

How the season works

1. Registration opens ahead of the season on our sign-up site. When it's live, a red Register banner appears at the top of every page here.
2. Equipment fitting happens before contact starts, so no player is guessing at sizes on day one.
3. Practices begin in August with fundamentals — stance, footwork, conditioning, and tackling technique — before full contact.
4. Games run through the fall against other metro programs.

Coaching

Our coaches are volunteers from the community. They teach technique first, play every kid, and keep the sideline a place a nine-year-old wants to come back to.
